"35th Lime Tree"

‹L”O“ú“o˜^Ø This 35th Lime tree is the symbol of international friendship between Japan and England which is based on the spirit of the gift of life.

September 2004, BODY(British Organ Donor Society) gave it to JDFC(Japan Donor Family Club).

In Japan, there have been thirty cases of organ donation from brain death (gift of Life) since the approval of the law permitting the transplantation of organs from the brain dead.
Unfortunately, a spirit of the "gift of life" and its value has not received an appropriate understanding from Japanese society.
Many donor families suffer from the unsympathetic view from the public in addition to the pain of the loss of their loved ones.

The President of JDFC, Yoichi Mazawa attended BODY's 20th Anniversary. And the Chairman of BODY, John A. Evans handed him the certificate of the adoption of this tree. ‹L”OŽ÷

"In acknowledgement of your pioneering actions regarding improving the quality of life and even prolonging life itself, BODY would like to dedicate a tree in its Commemorative Family Tree Scheme. We will be pleased to dedicate tree number 35 in honour of JDC ant its members." (From the Chairman, John A. Evans )

We, JDFC were very touched, the 35th Lime tree becomes the big support of our future activities...
