JDFC members went to "Recipients Sports Games" in Japan. JDFC attended Marathon (Green Ribon Festival) in Japan. JDFC attended the Ceremony for donor and donor families in Nagoya,Japan. JDFC attended the National Donor Recognition Ceremony & Workshop at Washington D.C. And also, visited to UNOS and New England Organ Bank. JDFC members attended the memorial ceremony that the Japanese recipients group sponsored. JDFC hold the "5th Bridge of Life Day Ceremony". Ceremony was a great success. The JDFC held the general meeting at Tokyo, and we started to prepare "Bridge of Life Day Ceremony 2007 May 17th" project. JDFC members went to "Recipients Sports Games" in Japan. Mr. MAZAWA and his family attended BODY's (British Organ Donor Society) 20th Anniversary in England, and the Chairman of BODY, John A. Evans handed him the certificate of the adoption of "35th Lime Tree ". JDFC members went to "13th Recipients Sports Games" in Japan, Osaka. Publication of the 20th "JDFC News". Mr. MAZAWA gave a lecture at national Okayama hospital "the 15th Nephrology Meeting". And, also a lecture is scheduled in the high school in Yamanashi Prefecture. This year, Donor Family from England attended, and BODY (British Organ Donor Society) gave commemorative "35th Lime Tree " to JDFC members. The Donor Family Quilt is displayed in Kobe city hall. Mr. MAZAWA attended a panel discussion at the 28th Annual Scientific Meeting of Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine, and talked about "Gift of Life" from donor family side. Mr. MAZAWA attended a panel discussion and talked about his daughter, Asako's story and experience in U.S.A. to let people know importance of life at Yamaguchi prefecture. Publication of the third "JDFC News". The JDFC's homepage was opened with the help of web designer, SEKINO Toshiyuki. They met the chairman of the 13th World Transplant Games 2001 Kobe, OHKUBO Michitaka. Mr. OHKUBO told them that he would like to express his thanks to the donor families during the event. However, the JDFC answered that they would prefer to share their idea of the importance and joy of life. The details of the event are still under discussion. Mr. MAZAWA attended the meeting held by "Thinking of medical and religion " to give a lecture entitled "The journey to tell the importance of life". He talked about his experience of the "Gift of Life", the grief over losing his daughter and the need to build up a system to support donor families. He also mentioned the Japanese view of religion and the current situation in the medical services. Publication of the second "JDFC News". Publication of the first "JDFC News". The Japanese national TV station, NHK, broadcasted the press conference upon the foundation of the JDFC. Many newspapers also covered it at the time. The JDFC, the first organization of donor families in Japan was founded. It is run by donor families, for donor families. With his experience in the United States, Mr. MAZAWA appealed to Mr. SATAKE and Mr. YOSHIKAWA. He told them that he believed it was necessary to teach people to accept donor families in society and for the relationship between doctors and patients to undergo a fundamental change in Japan. |
