In Japan, from early May to mid May is the most beautiful season. Flowers start blooming,the trees are covered with fresh green leaves, and sunshine is very gentle. It is the time of a year which is filled with power of life.
In Japanese society, people (even the doctors and other medical stuffs dealing with donation)still do not have enough understanding toward the Organ Donation.
Very few people know that Donor and Donor Families are the REAL heroes/heroines. And Donor Families are having a difficulty living in such a society. This is the reason we had established this Memorial Day. JDFC has been supporting the Donor Families in Japan,
but we hope the new Memorial Day will give us a further opportunity to be an additional support for them, including having deeper relationship with the group of Recipients.
We hope this new National Memorial Day will be the date for commemorating our loved ones' gift of life. And at the same time, a good chance for Japanese people to start recognizing importance to respect
"the significance of life", and "the human relationship".
We had registered the date at Japan Memorial Days' Association.
